Practice Alerts

Practice Alerts are short research summaries that provide important information on best –practice, safe and quality service delivery to people with disability. They were developed in in response to the Scoping review of causes and contributors to deaths of people with disability in Australia.

New resources have been developed to complement the Practice Alert series including short animations and quick reference guides, providing this valuable information in alternative and easily accessible formats for NDIS providers and workers. Easy reads will be available soon.

Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’

Our Worker Orientation Module called ‘Quality, Safety and You’ assists NDIS workers to better support people with disability.
This module is an interactive online course that explains the obligations of workers under the NDIS Code of Conduct – from the perspective of NDIS participants. It was developed in consultation with the sector, including NDIS providers and people with a disability.

Supporting effective communication

The Supporting Effective Communication e-learning module demonstrates – from the perspective of NDIS participants – what effective communication looks like, and how it supports choice and control.

The module was co-designed and developed in consultation with the sector, including people with disability and NDIS providers and workers.

Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals

Supporting safe and enjoyable meals is a new e-learning module aiming to improve NDIS worker awareness and understanding of how to provide safe and enjoyable mealtime assistance to people with disability.

A number of training modules and resources are available to support registered NDIS provider compliance with the NDIS Practice Standard for Mealtime Management.
