Welcome to this short tutorial explaining part 2 of the registration application process. The registration process has two parts. Part one is an initial check to see if your business is suitable.

The second is a more detailed assessment against the NDIS Practice Standards. This video focuses on part two. After submitting Part 1, if further assessment is not required, you'll be able to start Part 2 straight away. If returning to the application later, you can start Part 2 by accessing the link on the application record. You'll be asked to provide more detailed information about the scope of your services.

For your service locations, you'll need to tell us about outlets and sites. Outlets are the main service locations that might be known to the public. Sites are service locations that you may not make public, but that the auditor will need to know about.

At Step 4, you will conduct a detailed self-assessment against each of the NDIS Practice Standards that are applicable to you. Auditors will use this information to inform their assessment of your suitability to deliver NDIS supports and services. Once completed, you can declare and submit Part 2 of the application.

From here, or later from the application record, you can download a document called your Scope of Audit. You use this document to ask Approved Quality Auditors for quotes. You do this outside the portal. When you have chosen an auditor and accepted their quote, log back into the portal.

Find your draft application and click the button that says Nominate an Auditor. Type in the name of your chosen auditor to search the approved list. The system will automatically fill in their email and phone number for you. Check the details and click Confirm. The system then automatically sends a message to that auditor. It tells them that you have chosen them to complete your audit.

Your nominated auditor will log into the portal to see your request. They will check your details and click a button to officially accept the audit. The auditor will then type in the scheduled dates for when the different stages of your audit will happen. This helps everyone know when the audit starts. After they accept the request, the portal gives the auditor access to your full application. They will use this information to inform their audit.

Once the audit process is finished, the Approved Quality Auditor will submit the audit through their portal. You will be advised of the outcome of the audit and can view the recommendation and findings via the Audit tab of your application record.

You can then submit the results to the Commission to complete your application. Commission officers will then review your application and you'll be advised of the outcome and receive a Certificate of Registration which you will be able to access in the portal.

So that's how Part 2 of the application process and the audit stage works. You can access more detailed guides on the NDIS Commission website.
