What you need before starting
You will need to be able to log into the new NDIS Commission Portal.
You need to know your Australian Business Number (ABN).
You need to know your business contact details.
This includes your registered business address, postal address, email, and phone number.
You need to know your Registration Groups.
Registration Groups are the exact disability services a provider can give.
They are sometimes called Service and Support categories.
Registration groups tell a provider which NDIS Practice Standards they must follow.
NDIS Practice Standards are the quality and safety rules you must follow when supporting participants.
You need to know the total number of NDIS participants you currently support.
If you are a new business, this number will be zero.
You need to know the total number of workers you have.
You will need details for your Key Personnel.
Key Personnel are the people who manage or lead your business, like a director or CEO.
You will need the NDIS Worker Screening ID for each of your key personnel.
An NDIS Worker Screening ID is given as part of the NDIS National Worker Screening Check.
It says a person is safe to work with people with disability.
State or Territory authorities do this safety check.
If they are still applying, give us their NDIS worker screening application ID instead.
An NDIS worker screening application ID is a reference number. Workers get this number when they apply for an NDIS worker screening check.
