Supported independent living: Registered provider
Transition pathway for:
- current NDIS registered provider
- has registration group '0115 Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement'
- delivering supported independent living (SIL) before 1 July 2026.
If this doesn't apply to you, please choose another transition pathway.
Providers can continue to deliver supported independent living (SIL) during this process.
1. Awareness
Provider is aware that changes for supported independent living providers and transition arrangements start from 1 July 2026.
2. Preparation
Provider understands the transitional arrangements for existing registered supported independent living providers and the new supported independent living Practice Standards start from 1 July 2026.
3. Registration updated
In June 2026, we will send you a formal notice explaining the changes.
Providers will have an opportunity to tell us if they do not want to be registered to provide supported independent living.
If a provider chooses to continue to provide supported independent living:
- their registration will be varied to include a new registration group '0138 Assistance with supported independent living'
- they will receive a new registration certificate that includes this variation
- they will be notified before 1 July 2026.
4. Apply supported independent living Practice Standards
The provider continues to deliver supported independent living supports and must comply with new supported independent living Practice Standards to remain registered.
5. Provider’s next audit
The provider is audited against new supported independent living Practice Standards as part of their next audit (mid-term or registration renewal) after 1 July 2026.
