NDIS Commission portal (New): Guidance – Which portal do I use?

Below is information for registered providers about which portal to use for different tasks during the transition to the new NDIS Commission portal. If you aren't a registered provider, see I'm not a registered provider, what portal do I use?

The new NDIS Commission portal

From 12 October you will use two provider portals: the existing portal and the new portal.

  • Start new work in the new portal.

Portal access and staff access accounts

Portal access

  • From 12 October, you will use two provider portals: the existing portal and the new portal.
  • Both portals are reached through the NDIS Commission website, as they are today. To sign in to either portal, you need a PRODA account or a myID, with RAM authorisation If you are accessing the portal on behalf of an organisation.
  • Start new work in the new portal.
  • Use the existing portal to finish work already underway.

Staff access accounts

Everyone on your team with an active account in the existing portal will have an account set up in the new portal. You do not need to set them up again.

Please do the following:

  • Review your user list and complete any required access changes by 1 October 2026. Changes made after this date may not be reflected in the new portal. For more information see Check your user list before 1 October 2026.
  • Roles do not map one-to-one between the two portals. From 12 October, check the roles your staff have in the new portal and update them if you need to.
  • From 12 October:
    • your Registrant creates the user record for a new user
    • your Access Delegate provisions their access, assigns roles, and deactivates accounts in the new portal.
  • In the new portal, make sure at least one active staff member is assigned to each role your organisation needs. Roles include:
    • Registrant
    • Access Delegate
    • Worker Screening Officer
    • Behaviour Support Lodgement Officer
    • Restrictive Practice Reporting Officer
    • Reportable Incidents Officer.
  • User accounts are managed separately in each portal. From 12 October, if you create or deactivate a user in one portal, you must also make the same change in the other.

I'm not a registered provider, what portal do I use?

Unregistered providers

If you want to apply for registration, sign in to the new NDIS Commission portal and start a new application.

Applying for registration is the only function available to unregistered providers in the new portal. Anything else needs to be done in the unregistered providers portal.

If your application is approved, you'll get access to the full functionality of the new portal.

Deregistered providers

Worker screening moves to the new portal on 12 October.

Approved Quality Auditors

Use the new NDIS Commission portal for:

  • new audit work as it becomes available from October 12.

Use the existing portal to:

  • review applications that were submitted before October 12 and are already in progress
  • finish an audit for an application that was submitted before October 12
  • look up audit history, notes and attachments.

Approved Quality Auditors will have accounts set up in the new portal. You don't need to set them up again.

Behaviour support practitioners

If you work for a provider, use the new NDIS Commission portal for provider-related work.

You'll continue to do your individual practitioner activities in the existing portal. This includes:

  • managing your practitioner profile
  • applying for or checking a suitability application.

Participants

Self-managed and plan-managed participants who access the NDIS worker screening database will continue to access it in the Self-managed participants portal.
