It impacts someone who isn't an NDIS participant
I'm concerned about something that:
Impacts an NDIS worker
If you have a concern about worker safety or want to report an incident, you can contact the relevant department in your state or territory government.
- Australian Capital Territory
- New South Wales
- Northern Territory
- Queensland
- South Australia
- Tasmania
- Victoria
- Western Australia
Workplace relations or disputes can be directed to the Fair Work Ombudsman.
Impacts an NDIS provider
If you're concerned a provider is providing services but the invoices they send out aren't being paid:
- the provider can contact the person or organisation that should pay the invoice and request payment
- if it's a plan manager not paying invoices, the provider has the same options as you would with any other business, see What to do when you haven't been paid
- if you believe the provider might stop providing supports to NDIS participants due to the unpaid invoices, contact the NDIS Commission.
If you're concerned about the misuse of money from an NDIS plan, call the NDIS Fraud Reporting and Scams Helpline on 1800 650 717.
If you're concerned about the employment practices of other providers, such as 'poaching' workers, you may need to review the terms of your employee contracts or contact the Fair Work Commission.
Impacts a person with disability who doesn't have an NDIS plan
If you're concerned about a person with disability and they don't have an NDIS plan, you can:
- contact the National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline for information and connections to relevant services
- get help from a disability advocate, see find advocacy services near me
- if you believe it's a domestic violence or abuse situation, call the Police on 000.
Impacts a family member or friend of a person with disability
A family member or friend of a person with disability is subject to the same rules as any member of the community.
- If they are also a person with disability, you can contact the National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline for information and connections to relevant services
- If they are in danger, you can call Emergency services on 000.
Impacts an older person (65 years or older) with disability
Most people with disability who are over 65 years are not part of the NDIS system.
- If they have an NDIS plan you can contact the NDIS Commission.
- If they're part of the Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) program you can contact the NDIS Commission.
- If they're in aged care you can contact the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
- If none of these options apply, you can contact the National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline.
If you haven't found your issue on this page, or you're unsure, contact us.
The information you can provide about your concern or complaint is important. If the NDIS Commission isn't the right place to handle your concern, please share your information and concerns with the right organisation.
