Compliance and enforcement actions

On 14 September 2025 a variation to the banning order made under sections 73ZN(2)(a)(i) and (iii) of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 Sharna Louise Burnell from being involved in delivering NDIS supports or services involving direct or indirect contact to NDIS funded participants, which in this instance means: 

1. engaging in any activities that would be delivering support and services to NDIS funded participants; or
2. engaging in activities in a non-service and non-support delivery role as a provider, to the extent that those activities have a direct effect on the provision of NDIS funded supports or services to people with disability in the NDIS.  

The effective date of the banning order variation remains unchanged from the original banning order.  The banning order took effect at 5:00 pm AWST on 6 December 2024 for a period of four (4) years and operates across all states and territories of Australia.
