Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program

The Australian Government has established a grants program to support NDIS providers in meeting their quality and safeguarding responsibilities.

The Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program is administered by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) and funds the development and delivery of tools and resources that are available to NDIS providers and participants. These large-scale projects focus on supporting providers to meet their responsibilities to provide safe and quality services to NDIS participants.

Grant opportunities 2022-2023

Three grant opportunities were offered for the 2022-2023 round under the Support for NDIS Providers Grants Program. The funded activities will develop resources and solutions through co-design and consultation with NDIS participants.

The 2022 – 2023 grant opportunities were:

This project will increase provider and worker awareness of the rights of people with disability receiving behaviour support services and strengthen participant and provider connections to improve behaviour support outcomes. The objective of this grant is to respond to the issue of people who are experiencing behaviours of concern and restrictive practices lacking effective consultation and participation during the development of their NDIS behaviour support plans.

This project will assist participants to understand their rights, make complaints and raise issues with NDIS providers. The objective of this grant is to implement a robust and transparent co-design process with the relevant cohort to develop a suite of resources and tools, along with increasing participant awareness of what quality services and best-practice service delivery looks like. Applicants are encouraged to focus their proposal on one of the following cohorts of participants:

  • First Nations people, including those in remote communities
  • people with disability who require support for decision-making
  • people living in specialist disability accommodation or supported accommodation settings
  • children and young people with disability
  • people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
  • people who identify as LGBTIQA+, or
  • people with psychosocial disabilities.

This project will support development and testing of a digital solution for provider complaints handling. The objective of this grant is to develop and pilot an innovative digital complaint resolution system that facilitates early, efficient and effective resolution of complaints directly between NDIS participants and providers.
