Changing from PRODA to myID and RAM

The NDIS Commission is changing how we check the identity of providers that use our portals. Strong identity checks help us keep participants, providers and the NDIS safe against scams, fraud and data breaches.

We are changing from using Provider Digital Access (PRODA) to Digital ID (myID) and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) to access NDIS Commission portals.

NDIS providers

From 7 December 2025, providers will need to transition from using PRODA to a combination of myID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM):

  • myID is the Australian Government’s Digital ID app.
  • RAM is an authorisation service that allows an individual to act on behalf of a provider online when linked with their myID.

The changes will apply to the following NDIS Commission portals:

The transition period to move from PRODA to MyID and RAM:

  • starts on 7 December 2025
  • is scheduled to end on 30 September 2026.

You’ll need to start using MyID or RAM during the transition period. You won’t be able to use PRODA to access our portals once the transitions period ends.

We encourage providers to set up myID and RAM now to minimise disruption later.

NDIS participants

Initially you’ll continue to use PRODA to access our portals if you’re a NDIS participant and:

  • you have a self-managed NDIS plan
  • you engage a plan manager to assist you to manage your NDIS plan
  • you use the Self-managed participants portal to access the NDIS worker screening database.

We’ll let you know when there’s a change to how you access our portals.

Please note this change does not and will not replace NDIS worker screening checks.

Set up myID

Each user will need to set up their own myID to access NDIS Commission portals.

Your myID is linked to your personal identity, not your organisation. It’s used for identification in many other Australian Government services and platforms. For this reason, you should use a personal email address to set up myID, not a work email address.

Learn how to set up myID.

The NDIS Commission won’t have access to any of the identity documents you use to set up your myID. Read about myID protects your personal information and what you can do to keep it secure.

MyID identity levels

If you’re an employee, you’ll need at least a ‘Standard myID’ level to access NDIS Commission portals.

If you’re a person responsible for a business, you’re known as a ‘principal authority’. If you’re a principal authority and you need to link your personal myID to the business in RAM, you need a ‘Strong myID’ level. You need a valid Australian passport or one that has expired in the last 3 years to achieve a Strong myID identity level.

  • If you don’t have an Australian passport, check if another principal authority can link the business and authorise you.
  • If you’re still unable to achieve a Strong myID, set up a Standard myID and contact the RAM support line for assistance.
  • If you are unable to set up a Standard myID, you will still be able to access NDIS Commission portals using PRODA during the transition period.

Set up RAM

If you are a principal authority (a person responsible for the business), you will need to link your myID to the business ABN in RAM.
