On the 30 June 2025, a notice to refuse the application to be a registered NDIS Provider was issued to Deaf Children Australia on the basis that a delegate of the Commissioner reasonably believes that Deaf Children Australia has not:
• been assessed by an approved quality auditor as meeting the applicable standards and other requirements prescribed by the NDIS Practice Standards as prescribed in paragraph 73E(1)(c) of the National to Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act)
• demonstrated suitability to provide supports or services to people with disability as prescribed in paragraph 73E(1)(d) of the NDIS Act.
More specifically, the failure by Deaf Children Australia to complete a re-registration audit.
The refusal takes effect from 5 pm on 30 June 2025.Registration Group
102 assistance to access and maintain employment or higher education; 104 high intensity daily personal activities; 106 assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transitions and supports; 117 development of daily living and life skills; 121 interpreting and translation; 125 participation in community, social and civic activities;
