From time to time, formal inquiries and reviews relating to the delivery and regulation of the NDIS are initiated in response to events and incidents, as well as emerging issues and trends. They may be conducted by the NDIS Commission itself, or by an external, independent party. Detailed information about these inquiries and reviews is available below.

Own Motion Inquiry into Aspects of Supported Accommodation in the NDIS 

The Inquiry examined the experiences of participants living in supported accommodation through examining Reportable Incidents and Complaints that have occurred in connection with the supported accommodation services provided by a small number of NDIS providers that are large providers of supported accommodation.

The purpose of this Inquiry is to examine how Platform Providers operate in the NDIS Market. The Commissioner will also consider whether the current regulatory settings that cover this part of the NDIS Market are appropriate.

Throughout May and June 2023, the NDIS Commission continued to build productive relationships with all providers based on information sharing and learning through a series of workshops held in partnership with peak industry body NDS.
