Instructions for commencing monthly reporting for implementing providers in the ACT, QLD and Vic

Q&A about monthly reporting

Q: Who needs to submit a monthly report?

A: Implementing providers who at 1 July 2019 were permitted to use regulated restrictive practices in the provision of NDIS supports or services to NDIS participants, where this use was in accordance with an authorisation process and, if applicable, an existing behaviour support plan.

Q: Do I need to submit a monthly report if no restrictive practices are used during that month?

A: Yes, all implementing providers who are authorised to use a regulated restrictive practice must report monthly to the NDIS Commission, regardless of whether or not the restrictive practice was used within that month. Respite providers are not required to submit non-use reports when they not providing a service to the participant.

Q: When do I need to submit monthly reports?

A: Monthly reports for the month of July will be open from the first day of August and must be submitted within 5 business days.

Instructions for commencing monthly reporting for implementing providers in the ACT

From the beginning of August, in addition to ACT Senior Practitioner requirements, you will need to report monthly restrictive practice use in the NDIS Commission’s Portal. To facilitate this, the ACT Senior Practitioner and the Commission have worked together to migrate existing registered behaviour support plans onto the Commission’s portal. See the user guide for monthly reporting for additional guidance.

Step 1 - Request access to the NDIS Commission Portal.

You will require a PRODA account. When you log in with your PRODA account, request access for ‘Authorised Reporting Officer’. Approval for this request will go to the Authorised Access Delegate within your organisation. More information about Getting access to NDIS Commission Portal.

Step 2 - Verify and accept your behaviour support plans

2.1 Click on the behaviour support tile. A list will appear of all plans that are associated to you as an implementing provider.

2.2 Click on view for each plan, check through the details including the details under the schedule of restrictive practices.

2.3 If all details are accurate, click on Providers from the left hand navigation menu and then click on the Approve button. The plan status will change to active.

Step 3 – Commence monthly reporting

3.1 Go to Monthly reporting of restrictive practices on the left hand side navigation menu. For each restrictive practice the Report button should now be available. Click on the Report button and complete the monthly reporting. More information about the process for monthly reporting.

Participant privacy is of the utmost importance to the Commission. Because we place such a high priority on participant privacy, when you log into the Commission portal you may notice that you cannot see a behaviour support plan that you expect to see. If this is the case, it means that we need to confirm some details with you. Please contact the NDIS Commission by emailing behavioursupport@ndiscommission.gov.au and we will make the plan available to you.
