New resources

We have developed new resources to empower NDIS participants to exercise their right to quality and safe NDIS services and supports. They are also designed to educate NDIS providers and workers on best-practice support of NDIS participants.

The new resources were co-designed, tested with, and feature NDIS participants, their families, providers and support workers; and developed in consultation with peak and other sector bodies and subject matter experts.

Make it known, make it better

‘Make it known, make it better’ is a new video series featuring NDIS participants, their families, providers and support workers. The videos empower NDIS participants to raise a concern or a complaint if they are not happy with the quality or safety of their NDIS supports or services. The videos also demonstrate to NDIS providers and workers what best-practice service delivery looks like, using scenarios based on the NDIS Code of Conduct.

The NDIS Code of Conduct sets out the obligations of NDIS providers and workers to treat people with disability with respect.

Practice Alert animation series

We have developed new resources in the Practice Alert series including 12 animations and corresponding quick reference guides – demonstrating best-practice service delivery for NDIS participants most at risk of preventable harm and death.

Practice Alerts are short research summaries developed in response to the Scoping review of causes and contributors to deaths of people with disability in Australia (Scoping Review).

The new resources offer alternative formats for workers to easily engage with this important information. We encourage providers and workers to watch and share the animations, download the quick reference guides and add them to existing training packs or display in workplaces. Easy Reads will also be available soon.

Supporting safe and enjoyable meals e-learning module

Our new e-learning module, Supporting safe and enjoyable meals, is designed to help NDIS providers meet their obligations under the NDIS Practice Standards and in response to the Scoping Review. It educates NDIS providers and workers on how to provide safe and enjoyable meals to people with disability.
