Registered NDIS provider access to the NDIS Worker Screening Database

The NDIS Worker Screening Database is an important tool that enables providers to check the screening status of workers that require an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

You must access the NDIS Worker Screening Database through the NDIS Commission Provider Portal.

As a registered NDIS provider, you automatically have access to the NDIS Worker Screening Database and can log in via the NDIS Commission Portal.  This means you do not have to submit an application to gain access.

Login details won’t be emailed to a particular contact, as access is automatically available to the ‘Registrant’ listed for the registered NDIS provider on the NDIS Commission Portal.

The Authorised Access Delegate for your organisation can give staff access so that they can verify workers or undertake other related activities for the purposes of an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

How to log into the NDIS Worker Screening Database

  • Go to the NDIS Commission Portal and select ‘Login with PRODA’.
  • On the ‘Portal entry point’ screen select the appropriate ‘Provider name’ and ‘Registrant’ or ‘Worker Screening Officer’ as the ‘Role’.
  • Select the ‘Worker Screening’ tile.

How to give other staff access to the NDIS Worker Screening Database

  • Go to the NDIS Commission Portal and select ‘Login with PRODA’.
  • On the ‘Portal entry point’ screen select ‘Authorised access delegate’ as the ‘Role’.
  • Add a new staff member, or edit the access of existing staff members.

Refer to the Quick Reference Guide which sets out how to log into the NDIS Worker Screening Database and manage the access for staff.

Ensure the right people in your organisation receive email updates about workers

You can set email preferences to ensure that the appropriate staff receive notifications about the NDIS Worker Screening check for your workers.

To set email preferences, access the NDIS Commission Provider Portal and go to the ‘Email preferences’ tile. A list of category descriptions including ‘NDIS Worker Screening’ will display at the top of the screen.

If a staff member requires ‘NDIS Worker Screening’ email notifications, ensure they are included on the list and have ‘Worker screening’ recorded in the ‘Category’ column. If they do not, ‘Add’ them.

Please note that each registered NDIS provider requires a default recipient for all notifications. Even if you add additional staff that have the ‘NDIS Worker Screening’ category in email preferences, the default recipient will continue to receive the notifications.

Refer to the Quick Reference Guide which sets out how to log into the NDIS Worker Screening Database and manage the access for staff.

How to find your Employer ID so a worker can select you on their NDIS Worker Screening Check application

When a worker applies for an NDIS Worker Screening Check they will be required to select an employer who they intend to deliver NDIS services or supports for, to verify their application. The worker may need your Employer ID to be able to select you on their application.

To find your Employer ID, go to the NDIS Commission Provider Portal and select the ‘My Registration’ tile. The Employer ID is your Registration ID which will display in the top left hand corner.
